Has anyone ever heard of a mortgage lender declining a loan because the home has geo thermal ?

Question by toots3320: Has anyone ever heard of a mortgage lender declining a loan because the home has geo thermal ?
Three days before closing on our property, the lender decided that they would decline the loan as they noticed in the appraisal (that they had possession of for 5 weeks) that the home has geo-thermal. Our real estate agent and mortgage broker were both surprised by this. Has anyone else had this experience?

Odd, I would have thought a geothermal system would be an assett.

The mortgage resets in another 2 months and the payment will go up about $ 500. Is their any plan to refinance this mortgage???

Just curious, some of the comparison sites i knew of are hardly coming up with anything in my area. if anyone knows of a good lender with a low fixed rate loan option id like to hear about them as well, i have identical good credit and a stable incomebank rate is what ive been using, only gives me like 4 option if i pick 20% down and 1 if i do 5% down, and im thinking more like 10%

and would really like to get in on a forclosure home while I still might be able excessively, basicly looking for a second chance lender that wont rape me too bad….Yes my credit is atleast a 580 so we are just looking for a lender that handles Michigan and looking at a home under 85k

start with your bankor credit unionif neither will finance you, seek a seller who will accepta lease-purchase or “land contract.”
